Adjusting to Indianapolis & Getting By
Well, our first week in Indianapolis was rough. Thank you all for your kind and helpful tweets, emails, and comments. I am slowly making my way through them today. After feeling exhausted and desperate for most of last week I decided to take things easy and enjoy our new surroundings. Exploring Indianapolis has temporarily taken my mind off of my weaning and sleeping woes.
The Indianapolis Marion County Public Library (Central Location) is our new favorite hangout. I’ve never seen a more beautiful public library. It’s absolutely breathtaking. I haven’t explored much past the kids area but the architectural details are stunning. It isn’t far from our apartment, the kids love running around the dedicated children’s area, and I enjoy spending time indoors but away from home with a Starbucks iced coffee when it’s ninety degrees outside. Ya. It has been *hot* here.
Cameron was a bit of a teething, cranky mess Saturday afternoon so we missed a planned play date with my twitter friend Kate. I hope to catch up with her this week. I met her when we visited Indy in October and she is fantastic. I splurged and got myself a new pair of Tory Burch flats. The Fashion Mall here is ridiculous. Absolutely gorgeous and a lot of fun. We ate lunch at Seasons 52 which we didn’t realize was a diet spot. Now, this isn’t a huge issue but we were famished. The restaurant was wonderful. The menu was full of clean and fresh lunch options but we were so hungry that we ate the kids’ flatbread. Hey, they weren’t eating it so why waste food?
All is well and things are slowly returning to normal. We’ve got nine weeks to go but I am not counting down. Lately I feel as if I countdown my life away and I want to change that. I’m slowing down and enjoying the moment, all the moments, and letting the finish line, whatever it may be, fade away into my rearview. I can’t live my life constantly looking forward to the next thing. I’ll go crazy. Life will pass me by.
*I decided to put Tool Time on hold because of my lack of sleep/time. I hope to share more douchey tales soon : )*

@mahoganywaymama
I’m glad you are settling in as best you can. I feel you on living life waiting for the next event. That is a beautiful library…nice place to hang out.
Thanks so much. Present living is something i struggle with a bit. Im ALWAYS SO EXCITED for the next thing. Its not a bad thing for me to remember that life is short and that sadly the next thing may never be. Best to be happy now. Thanks for stopping by : )

@onestarrynight
I am thrilled that you are able to explore your new area and that you have such an awesome library! Our local library has gone down the tubes SO MUCH! When my oldest was a toddler we went almost every day to play with the toys, get books, reading time… now? They got rid of all of that. Cept the books. Obviously heh.
LOVEEE that last photo! It’s just… sassy!
