One Year with my DSLR. My Photography Journey.
It’s finally here. My one year DSLRiversay Photography Celebration and Giveaway. Please bear with me because I am about to get uncharacteristically sappy. I broke this post up into two parts.
This is Part I.
Those of you who have been with me from my CrunchyVTMommy days know how hard I have worked to improve the quality of my photos. Here is Part I of my photography journey. I’ve come pretty far as you can see.
I would be remiss if I did not give credit where it is due. I’ve spent time, money, and effort of course but without my friends I wouldn’t be where I am.
And where am I?
A million miles away from the person I was. Photography has changed my perspective and perceptions. Everything is an adventure and an opportunity to document a moment in time I might otherwise have forgotten. Major milestones remain seared in my memory for a lifetime but what about that time we were blowing bubbles and Preston stopped to kiss Cameron on the forehead?
I don’t want to ever forget.
Photography has given me the gifts of eternal memory for me and my family, the opportunity to home a skill and art form which helps me bring happiness to others, and a platform to eventually (and hopefully currently) help others discover the same joy.
Thank you all for the support.
It means more to me than I can convey. I have a long way to go and am light years from where I want to be but I will get there. Someday. For now I am enjoying the ride.
Oh, and I’m a good sport you can totally laugh at my missteps
. Part of the fun is looking back at how awesome we thought we were and then later shaking our head at the mint green skin tones on our kids.
Enjoy.

Thanks so much Melisa. That made my night. It’s exactly what I want to do! I want to share all I can so anyone knows that with time and a lot failures along the way we can and will improve.
Looking forward. You’re a true inspiration. I can’t believe it’s taken you only a year to get this far. I’ve had my DSLR for, like three years, and ahem. Well.
You’re amazing! So is the time and energy and effort you’ve put in to improve your skill and get such amazing images of the ones you love most.
Thanks so much Erica. That means a lot. You make it sound so much sweeter than what it is…a crippling obsession lol I kid I kid but seriously a day rarely goes by that im not snapping away.
