ConAgra’s The Dish. My New Kitchen Companion.

Wednesday, August 8th, 2012

If you’ve known me for a bit then you know I love to eat and share recipes. I’ve worked hard to improve my food photography so I can up my food blogging game and share some original recipes with you. When we aren’t traveling I spend a lot of time in the kitchen. I follow a ton of incredible food bloggers and am often inspired.

The Dish is an innovative new resource offered by ConAgra Foods exclusively tailored to bloggers. It’s incredibly unique and has some fantastic content. It has four main content areas:

  • Seasonal Spotlight: Content tailored exclusively to what’s fresh and in season.
  • Ask Our Team: ConAgra’s very own food experts ready to answer bloggers’ questions. The panel includes some impressive people including several successful bloggers.
  • Recipe Resources: Self explanatory spot full of popular recipes to inspire your creations.
  • First Look, First Taste: Here is where it gets really exciting. Sign up with your blog URL and gain access to an exclusive members only area that includes current promotions, kitchen tips, cooking advice, AND a spot to request product samples.

I respect a brand that takes bloggers seriously. ConAgra knows we are the real deal.

90% of my weekly meal plan comes from blogger recipes I’ve pinned on Pinterest, and I’m sure I’m not alone. How cool is it that The Dish took our unique needs as bloggers and tailored an entire site around it? I’ve never seen a site like The Dish before.

I use it as a kitchen companion to find recipe post ideas (finding the time to write is a different story) but also for serious blogging advice. I was just talking to a friend about creating a business plan for our blogs. I was cruising through The Dish and found this post about – you guessed it – creating a blogging business plan! Wow. Impressed.

Relevant and thoughtful content tailored exclusively to bloggers. Love it. con-agra-the-dish. con-agra-the-dish. con-agra-the-dish.

I cook. She eats. Match made in heaven.

Alissa of 33 Shades of Green is hosting Tasty Tuesdays. This week I wanted to share a Bakerella recipe I tried recently. These are the easiest muffins to make. They are delicious and bite sized. I like to hand one to the toddler every once in awhile to keep him occupied while I prepare oatmeal which can take forever in toddler time.

1 cup flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons sugar
2/3 cup buttermilk
1 egg
2 tablespoons pure maple syrup
2 tablespoons melted butter
1/2 cup milk chocolate chips

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt and sugar in a medium bowl. Sift together with a wire whisk.
  • In another bowl, stir buttermilk, egg, maple syrup and melted butter until just combined.
  • Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients and stir with a spoon until combined.
  • Stir in chocolate chips. Reserve a few chips to sprinkle on the tops.
  • Bake for 8-9 minutes.

Makes 24 mini pancake muffins.

Let cool slightly and remove from the pan. You may need to use a toothpick around the edges to separate the pancake muffins from the pan.

Serve immediately with warmed butter if you like or even just with maple syrup.

They are quick, easy, tasty, adaptable, and adorable. I am trying them next with some blueberries & ground flax seed. I’ll let you know how they turn out.
