Keeping skin pretty with Neutrogena's Oil Free Pink Grapefruit Line
If you've followed my blog for a bit you might remember my summer in Indianapolis. One of the first things I realized upon our arrival was that the majority of my belongings were left behind. Yep. Most of my clothes, shoes, and toiletries stayed behind in Ithaca. It was kind of a bummer but I quickly turned my frown upside down when my husband took me shopping for some new gear.
I checked out Nordstrom Rack for the first time. Grabbed a few essentials including Neutrogena's Oil Free Pink Grapefruit Facial Cleanser. I used it for a month and was sold. I've purchased two containers since then. It's fantastic. It cleanses my sensitive skin without drying it out. I love the scent too. I haven't had too many acne issues since I've had the kids but that Indiana summer was no joke. It was hot enough outside to melt makeup off my skin. I saw 108 degrees for the first time in my life. Way harsh.
I didn't think much of the cleanser until I ran out. Zits. All over my face! I hadn't seen a breakout like that since before I had Preston three years ago. Not cool. That three day lapse without my grapefruit cleanser taught me a lesson: stuff works.
Latina Bloggers Connect sent me a package of Neutrogena's Oil Free Pink Grapefruit Facial Cleanser, Cleansing Wipes, and Foaming Scrub to review. Obviously I'm familiar with the cleanser but I was excited to try the other products.
The scrub was great. Very gentle but effective. My skin is clear and lightly exfoliated. I like using it in the shower too because although it clears breakouts I find it's awesome for smoothing rough skin. The heat in our student housing apartment is constantly bumping and it dries my skin like crazy. The scrub helps.
I exclusively use Neutrogena wipes for makeup removal but had never tried the pink grapefruit wipes. I love them. I usually use them to wipe away heavy makeup but always wash with a cleanser afterwards. These are the first wipes I've ever used that left my face feeling so clean that i didn't feel I needed to follow up with a traditional cleanser or risk a hot mess of a face in the morning. However be mindful of rubbing around your eyes. The wipes won't hurt you but the grapefruit extract might leave the area a bit tingly since the skin around your eyes is thinner than the rest of your face. Verdict? I've got a new wipe too.
