Monthly Milestones and a Birthday
The kids are growing up too fast. Next thing you know Pweezy will be leaving the house in a souped up Honda Civic with Fast and the Furious ground effects and a neon paint job or whatever is cool in the 'future' (hover car?). He is two today. Two! This will be Pweezy's last BabyCenter milestone update post. *Tear*
Pweezy: 24 Months.
Mastered Skills (most kids can do)
- Names at least six body parts
- Half of speech is understandable
- Makes two- to three-word sentences
Pweezy can name everything that is visible. He will even tell you all about how baby eats 'nimples'. Smart kid. He is articulate and his speech is understandable which can be unfortunate at times. He may or may not have called a gentleman with an eyepatch 'Hook'. Oh geeze.
His sentences are the best. Pweezy likes to tell everyone "Mommy screamed! Daddy kicked junebug".
Emerging Skills (half of kids can do)
- Talks about self
- Arranges things in categories
- Can walk down stairs
When Pweezy wants his sister to give him back his soccer ball he says "Baby put ball in Pweezy hand. Pleaaaaase". I do not think he arranges things in categories. He might. Sometimes when he is playing with his blocks I hear him talk about rectangles, squares, and triangles.
He recently started walking down the stairs confidently. I am so happy. It makes things a lot easier for me especially when I am holding onto my giant baby Cmoney.
Advanced Skills (a few kids can do)
- Begins to understand abstract concepts (e.g., sooner and later)
- Becomes attuned to gender differences
- Learns to jump
I am not sure whether he understands the concepts but I have told him about future events and he seems to understand (what I mean is when I tell him he can have ice cream later the begging stops for a little while).
I am not entirely sure whether he is attuned to gender differences yet but he told me that he is a boy and that baby sister is a girl. When I asked him what the difference between a boy and girl is he thought about it for a second and said "Mommy back strong". Alrighty then.
Pweezy has been jumping with both feet off the ground since he turned a year old. He is super advanced..not sure what sort of indicator this is. I hope it means that he will be in the NBA. Mommy needs a yacht.
My sweet little boy is doing exceptionally well and I am so thankful. Happy Birthday to Pweezy. He changed my life.
Cmoney: 10 Months.
Mastered Skills (most kids can do)
- Waves goodbye
- Picks things up with pincer grasp
- Crawls well, with belly off the ground
I love when Cmoney waves hello and goodbye. It is a combination of a royal and pageant wave. It is hilarious. She has the pincer grasp down. There isn't a snack in this house that Cmoney hasn't swiped.
Cmoney crawls like a champ. She is a far more efficient crawler than Pweezy ever was. I learned the other day that she is able to climb thirteen flights of stairs all by herself. Terrifying. The gates are up already.
Emerging Skills (half of kids can do)
- Says "mama" and "dada" to the correct parent
- Indicates wants with gestures
Cmoney knows exactly who Mama & Dada are. She is a very vocal baby. I love her sweet little voice. She also has absolutely no problem letting you know what she wants both vocally and physically. She weighs as much as her two year old brother and has no problem throwing her muscle around. Cmoney should moonlight as a bouncer.
Advanced Skills (a few kids can do)
- Stands alone for a couple of seconds
- Puts objects into a container
Cmoney has stood on her own and walks around when she is in the mood and holding onto her daddy's hands. She is very motivated if there is food in her line of vision. I do not think she is putting objects into containers yet unless her mouth counts as a container. That she can do. ; )
My marshmallow princess is also doing well. She is way ahead of her brother in mobility so hopefully chasing her around allows me to lose a few more pounds. Gotta look on the bright side to having a fast darling menace of a baby.
I am blessed to have two happy and healthy babies.
Happy Birthday Pweezy!
