Online learning with Lynda.com

I stumbled upon Lynda.com, a leader in self paced online education,  a few months ago by accident while wandering around the internet. The offerings were impressive and so were the testimonials but I didn't sign up. I like to hear personal referrals before committing to online memberships. I'm kind of picky like that.

A few months ago I saw someone raving about Lynda.com on one of the photography forums I frequent. My interest was piqued. Although my photographic skills have come a long way there is plenty to learn. My food photography is mediocre at best, I can barely work my Speedlite flash, and I'd love to learn how to make videos using my DSLR. I really love learning and am always working on something new, usually at the expense of sleep but it's worth it.

I was super psyched when the folks working with Lynda.com contacted me and asked me whether I'd be interested in conducting a review and giveaway. Hmm, let me think....YES! Lynda.com has an incredible array of offerings including courses on photography, Photoshop, iPad music production, brand building, and so much more. You really have to see for yourself. Name it. It's there.

There are accompanying iPad and iPhone apps and an Android accessible mobile site too. The convenience factor is fantastic. I often get asked how I've learned so much about photography when I have so little alone time. My answer is: late at night and on my phone. It's great that Lynda.com will allow me to learn at my pace and on my own crazy schedule without having me tethered to my laptop or desktop.

I'm focusing on a food photography course and exploring the site in-depth to provide an accurate and more extensive review. Let's see if this class takes my food photos from drab to fab (my fingers are SO crossed) In the meantime check out Lynda.com's offerings and get super psyched about the TWO annual memberships I'll be giving away next month.

lynda.comI can't wait to share what I've learned and give two lucky readers annual memberships valued at $357 each. Check out Lynda.com and get ready for next months review and super awesome giveaway.

*Disclosure: I was given an annual membership to Lynda.com to review and share with my readers. The opinions expressed above are my own and honest. They have not been influenced by anyone.*
