Cmoney's 13 Month Milestones

Cmoney is growing up too fast. She was such a mellow baby but that has ended. She is into everything, climbing all over the place, walking like a sweet little zombie, and leaving a path of destruction in her wake. I adore her but she is a ginormous handful. She is nothing like Pweezy. It definitely keeps me on my toes. Her two top teeth have popped through after a week of sheer torture for her and everyone around her. Poor baby. Cmoney got her first booboo too. Pweezy is two years old and hasn't suffered a cut, scratch, or bruise yet *knocks on wood*. Little miss on the other hand got a giant egg-shaped welt on her head and a little black and blue to go along with it.

I left her and her brother in their bedroom. They were sitting on the floor playing on their train tracks. I returned to my room less than 10 feet away to fold laundry and *BOOM*. Cmoney is crying. I nursed her. She stopped. I looked down and FREAKED out. HUGE giant welt on her head.

According to Pweezy and the positioning of the train tracks and wooden block tunnel Pweezy had constructed I determined that Pweezy grabbed his blanket from underneath Cmoney while she was walking, she fell and landed headfirst on the wooden blocks and train tracks. The bruise is the same shape as the tracks. ;-/ She is fine but it was scary and I felt terrible but I guess it was bound to happen eventually.

Besides her crazy climbing antics and some teething disturbances Cmoney is doing well. She is still nursing and cosleeping, is walking on her own, talking, feeding herself, and dancing up a storm.

Here are the thirteen month milestones according to Babycenter:

Mastered Skills (most kids can do)

Uses two words skillfully (e.g., "hi" and "bye") Bends over and picks up an object

She says: hi, bye, mama, dadda, hat, and what's that. She mimics us a lot too. Cmoney has mastered the fine art of bending over and picking up food off the floor. She got that from me.

Emerging Skills (half of kids can do)

Enjoys gazing at his reflection Holds out arm or leg to help you dress him

Cmoney thinks her reflection is hilarious. She hands me clothes from her dresser in the morning and then pretends to get dressed. She gets that from her father. She is very into clothes, hats, and looking good.

Advanced Skills (a few kids can do)

Combines words and gestures to make needs known Rolls a ball back and forth

I don't think she is combining words and gestures. She makes her needs knows mostly by throwing her muscle around and taking what she wants. Works for me. She does ask to watch Yo Gabba Gabba but I am not too proud of that.

Cmoney does love rolling balls. Who doesn't?

Looks like my little doll is on the right track.

Happy 13 months Cmoney :)
