Susan. A Woman Who Helped Me.
This post is part of Heart of Haiti Mother’s Day post series. I wanted to honor a woman who although she is not my mother, has gone above and beyond to help me when I needed it the most.
During the Spring of 2009 Susan was transferred to my group and we quickly became friendly. She is hilarious, friendly, and always had whatever I needed in her desk. I became the moochiest friend on the planet. Susan had it all! Tea, handmade stationary, an extra three hole puncher, and anything else you could ever need during business hours. It was great!
As time passed we got to know each other better and she became much more than an endless supply of stamps. She became one of my best friends. Susan was there for me when my grandmother died and even drove me and my sister to the hospital in the middle of the night when I was in labor with my daughter seven months ago. THAT is a friend.
Not only has she helped me when it was the easy thing to do but she helped me immensely when it wasn't. Susan is the kind of friend that a smart person treasures and I do.
